Curry's Haven provides a variety of services for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD Services)

 

Other Services:

 

AFL’s – Alternative Family Living Facilities – Families that have opened their homes to allow a mentally challenged child or adult to come, live and be absorbed into the family’s culture. (Homes with children or more than one adult must be licensed)

Managed Licensed Facilities – Facilities that are licensed by other smaller agencies over which Curry’s Haven provides clinical oversight

In Home Skill Building

In-Home Skill Building provides training to enable you to acquire and maintain skills, which support you to be more independent. In-home skill building provides additional support to your family and natural supports and consists of an array of services that are needed to maintain your life in the community. As you gain skills and become more independent, you should need fewer hours of this service. In-home skill building consists of training and supporting you to develop and maintain personal relationships, skill building to help you learn community living skills, such as shopping, recreation, personal banking, grocery shopping, and other community activities, training to help you learn therapeutic exercises, supervision of self-administration of medication, and other services that are essential to your health care at home, including transferring, ambulation, and using special mobility devices, transporting you to activities where you are receiving In-Home Skill Building. This service cannot be provided in the home of a direct support employee.

Personal Care Services

 

What is Personal Care Service?

Personal Care services include support, supervision and engaging participation with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other activities of daily living. This service may include preparation of meals, but does not include the cost of the meals themselves. Engaging participant in utilizing skills gained during active treatment and/or habilitation is the key and may be provided outside of the individual’s residence.

When specified in the Person Centered Plan, this service may also include such housekeeping chores as bed making, dusting and vacuuming, which are incidental to the care furnished, or which are essential to the health and welfare of the participant, rather than the participants’ family. Personal Care also includes assistance with monitoring health status and physical condition, assistance with transferring, ambulation and use of special mobility devices.

 

 

Supported Employment

 

What is Supported Employment?

Supported Employment Services provide assistance with choosing, acquiring, and maintaining a job for participants ages 16 and older for whom competitive employment has not been achieved and /or has been interrupted or intermittent.

Supported employment (Individual) services include:

Pre-job training/education and development activities to prepare a participant to engage in meaningful work-related activities which may include career/educational counseling, job shadowing, assistance in the use of educational resources, training in resume preparation, job interview skills, study skills, assistance in learning skills necessary for job retention; and assisting a participant to operate a micro-enterprise.
